A Thistle

A thistle is never

without a home,

as it puts down roots

wherever it falls.

God gave the thistle

a subtle beauty,

with over-abundant

self protection.

A thistle withstands

the coldest tempests,

high heat and drought

can never wither it.

Wet or dry,

it stands tall and proud,

so all can view

its beauteous flowers.
